Higher Rate of Obesity in C-section Babies Revealed

Study revealed that C-section babies has a higher chance of becoming obese Infants born via caesarean section are found to be at greater risk of becoming obese later in life than those delivered naturally according to a recent research in Brazil. The study was published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. It states that almost 15% of babies born through C-section became obese by the age of 23-25 in comparison with just 10% of babies born naturally. The data was analyzed from 2, 000 participants aged 20-25. They also found out that babies born through caesarean section had a 58% raised risk of adulthood obesity.

C-Section Babies More Prone to Obesity

According to the head of the research team, Dr. Helena Goldani from the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul in Porto, Alegre, Brazil, the study did not prove cause-and-effect and did not verify an underlying connection between surgical deliveries and weight problems. While the recent findings in the research can be one of the probable cause of middle aged obesity, experts involved in the study states that it should not be taken as a proof to regard C-section as a direct cause of obesity.

Dr. Helena Goldani further states that it is not the caesarean section itself that causes obesity. The risk of obesity is associated with the lack of exposure of the surgically delivered babies to the beneficial bacteria in the birth canal which may cause them a little longer to accumulate Bifidobacteria and other microbes that could influence their metabolism. Acquiring less intestinal microbes to guide your body burn more calories results in higher percentage of stored fats in the body, they said.

Findings Needs More Research

Other experts also found the findings interesting but suggest that the study has still a big fissure on its results that requires a lot more research. There is still a huge gap on the statistics acquired in the research which are likely to lead to new questions and further hypothesis. Moreover, mother with babies born through caesarean section should save all their worries as it is known that breastfeeding can prevent obesity and many other diseases. Experts suggest giving exclusive breastfeeding for at least 6 months to nurture the babies with the best nutrients that breast milk could give.

Childhood Obesity

The extra pound that starts when you’re still young makes it the hardest weight to shed off. Not minding the extra weight because your child look so adorable poses them to a greater risk in acquiring diseases brought by obesity.

Childhood obesity can be life threatening over a period of time. It increases the chances of a child to suffer serious health problems such as diabetes, high blood pressure and cardiovascular diseases. It is best to teach your child to start a healthy habit of eating balanced and well-proportioned meals in order to avoid developing extra weight. Performing activities together with your child will also help prevent childhood obesity.

Regardless if a child was born through C-section or via natural delivery, a healthy lifestyle is still the best way in preventing obesity in your child.

Is Sexual Dysfunction Triggered by Phentermine Use?

Published by Lawrence under Phentermine Information

The truth about phentermine's sexual dysfunction side effect Reducing weight can be done in different ways. It can be straight forward for some, but difficult for others. It’s a combination of so many other formula combined with the traditional methods of programmed exercise and a good diet.

Extremely obese individuals who need extra help to lose weight opt for medications that can help them go through their obesity battle. Phentermine became their most sought after appetite suppressant pill that had been proven to bring weight loss results to its users. This anti-obesity drug, which became popular since the 1990’s, paved way to countless obese patients achieved their weight loss goal and carry on a healthy weight on their own. Phentermine boost the metabolism in a way that allows someone to eat less.

Phentermine and its Sexual Side Effects

Like many other appetite suppressant pills, phentermine has few side effects. However, there are some people that blame phentermine for suffering sexual dysfunction.

It is relatively difficult to determine whether a particular medicine is causing erectile dysfunction or disrupting sexual function. Phentermine is suspected to interfere with sexual function, although it is unusual to be the sole cause of sexual problems. The exact percentage of phentermine users who experienced sex drive changes has not been reported. There are no definite information or medical research that may prove whether these changes is caused by other factors or phentermine alone which may involve an increased sex drive, low sex drive or both.

Studies on Phentermine’s  Sexual Side Effect

Few studies states that, being a symphatomimetic drug, Phentermine causes activation of the “flight or fight” response of a person wherein there are certain stimuli responses that are suppressed to give way to more important functions. Some suppressed stimuli may include the sexual stimuli which may therefore cause some changes in sex drive. Someone taking phentermine might find less interested in sex because the body is busy doing work even when you are at rest.

Appetite suppressant pills, including Phentermine have the tendency to make a person a little anxious, edgy, irritated and moody. Phentermine users may find themselves in a constant sour mood as the body adjusts to the drug which in return may affect their interest in things like sex. However, anxiety and mood behaviors usually diminish after getting used to the drug.

Men using phentermine sometimes complains about experiencing sexual dysfunction and loss of size and dimension of their penis and testicles. This kind of minor size reduction is sometimes physiological. However, continued use of the drug will eventually return your normal sexual functions in a few weeks.

Other Causes of Sexual Dysfunction

The mechanism of sexual function is not fully understood. It involves a complex coordination of hormones, chemical messengers in the brain and the sexual organs. Sexual function can generally be affected by medicine in several ways. Nonetheless, there are still several other factors that may do so such as slow body oxidation, low electrolytes pattern, excessive toxic metals and other body imbalances. Sexual dysfunction can further be affected by external factors such as physiological, spiritual and emotional aspects on a person’s life. Thorough medical examination is needed to point out the real cause of sexual problems and the proper medication for it.

Ask for Doctor’s Advice

If you’re experiencing sexual side effects with phentermine in the beginning of the medication, try to see after a few weeks if it slowly disappears. Do your share by working out, eating healthy and drinking lots of water to help flush toxins out of your system. Evaluate your weight loss results and consult a health care provider if the sexual side effects don’t diminish right away. Depending on how severe your phentermine sexual side effects are, your doctor may adjust your phentermine dosage or try another weight-loss treatment.
