Cola products top the list of unhealthy foods. Twelve ounces of cola based drink is equivalent of 150 calories. These products are full of sugar, corn syrup or other sweeteners. It is also discovered that consuming high calories in liquid form can lead to overeating. Another are doughnuts and fried dough which are drenched with trans fat. A typical doughnut weighs in at 300 calories and contains few other nutrients aside from the 19 grams of fat. These types of foods are usually seen and offered in most supermarkets hence people cannot avoid them completely.

This popular dish can actually be a potent cause of obesity. Fried chickens are mostly cooked in highly heated oils most notably, partially hydrogenated oil. These trans fats are also known to cause cancer and other serious health risks when consumed regularly. There is no faster way to hasten the problem of weight gain than to consume fried chicken on a regular basis.

Sugar is also considered one of the enemies of successful dieting. Sugary cereals are also considered unhealthy. Ingredients and terms to watch out for are “sweetened” or dyed. Majority of the kids today love cereals hence they too can be a big target in the problem of obesity. For parents, it would be a good alternative to serve their children with oatmeal with honey or agave syrup. Any cereal where sugar is listed as an ingredient should be avoided. It is a much healthier alternative to buy real grain cereal and sweeten them with fresh fruits such as strawberries and blueberries.

And of course, one should also avoid foods that contain monosodium glutamate (MSG). This is actually an ingredient that increases your appetite. Researches show that MSG is addictive so if you want to be successful in dieting, you need to promote the idea of getting any and all foods that does not contain MSG.

So if you want to lose weight and promote a healthy lifestyle, you need to steer clear from these foods. If you avoid the culprits of obesity then it is much easier for you to shred those extra fats.
